Genre Choice
When our group started thinking about the whole production in general, our first decision was what genre we were going to base our opening sequence on. Our first idea was to use the ‘Comedy’ genre a reason for this was the fact we could easily think the number of story lines we could do. The reason we didn’t do this genre because we didn’t know how to film certain things and what our specific target audience would like to see. After debating that idea we thought of basing our production on a horror/thriller genre. Our reasons being were once again because we could think of many story ideas. The attraction of a horror or thriller film is the fact they are mysterious and plan to shock the viewers. We thought this would be a good idea for our opening sequence because we could experiment ways that we could shock the viewer ourselves. We did a lot of research before finally deciding on the genre such as looking at previous films analysing how certain things are done such as camera shots and credits at the start. Overall at the end we decided as a group to do horror/thriller.

Good; you have already explored the typical horror requirements- consider these in terms of how you can recreate them in your own editing and any additional scenes that you add.
