Titles mood board
This post is me analysing how other films have used their titles and how we have taken ideas from this. I also talk about the techniques they have used in their titles and how that has helped represent an effect that relates to their genre of film. Not only did i analyse that i also went into detail about their uses of fonts and colours schemes and related it back to how we are going to use similar approches towards our title to give the effect of the "Horror" genre.Costumes mood board

Film name suggestions
· Platform
· Platform 3
· The Platform
· No Escape
· No Looking Back
· Train Journey
· No Way Out
· No Way Home
· Locked
· Train Ticket To Hell
These are a few suggestions for names for our film that we come up with as a group. We took a liking towars the use of the word "Platform" in our film name as we believed it was relevant to the storyline of it occuring at a train station and wanted the film name to be relevant to the film. As we wanted "Platform" in the name this ruled out all of the other options. "Platform 3" was a strong contestant to be the final name be we figured our filming would have to then revolve around a platform 3 at a train station and it could have become challenging and difficult when it came to filming. We wanted our film name to be short and snappy but also meaninful and of course relevant. As a group we come to the final decision of naming the film "The Platform" as it fitted all the needs and demands we wanted of it, we are all happy with the name and believe it is a very good choice.

Lead Productions Horror music 1st attempt
This is my first attempt at creating a suitable track on Garageband for our film which is a horror. It is only a start to see how i could create good music that connects with the genre of the film. It's only a short version and will need improvements such as making it a lot longer so it can fit with the timing of the film and also changing some of the notes where it goes flat and doesn't sound exactly right.
Story line
The storyline to our film is based on a girl called Ellie who is 16 years old and is the next victim on the list of our male character Gary. Gary is a 41 year old man who faced serious problems as a child and for the past 15 years has taken an enjoyment to stalking young teenage girls and kidnapping them which leads to sexual assault and murder.
Gary's next victim Ellie sits next to him on the train which is where we see the first signs of Gary's mind games and how he approaches his ways of getting these girls. Ellie is then followed off the train by Gary and then the 16 year old girls life is likely to be down hill from here unless she can safe herself and escape from cruel fate that awaits her.

allocated work

To work out who was doing what piece of work and blog post, we decided to split the paper into four quarters and decide what everyone was doing to organise the group. This meant that two people weren't working on the same piece of work and also that when one piece of work was finished everyone knew what else they had to do. This also meant that everyone was doing equal amounts of work and by choosing what they wanted to do everyone was happy with the work they had to do, this meant that there were no disagreements and the work would get done quickly and efficiently.

Target Audience
A reason for this is because it involves murder and wouldn't be appropriate for people under 15. Another reason why we chose this to be our intended target audience is because people around this age can relate themselves to the characters involved within the film therefore it would be easier to understand. As well as just people 15 and over it suits both genders. A reason for this would be the fact that it is just a horror/film in general. Couples watch horror and thriller films together and the aim of our film is to attract them sort of viewers.
The target would be based around the working and middle class audience (C - B demographic). The audience seeks escapism which is away from everyday life. They love the horror genre as well as the thriller genre and like a good gripping storyline. They find it easy to identify with the characters based with in the film.

Preliminary Task - Improvements
Another improvement would be the fact every time a certain clip ends within the preliminary it fades to black. In our main task we do not want this to happen. In our main task the screen will fade to black when the titles come on to the screen this makes it easier to edit the film in general and put on the credits.
We found that we wasted time in our preliminary task when ‘Danielle’ was walking to the house. We found that this scene went on for a long time and could bore the viewer. In our main task we don’t want to bore the viewer and make sure that our opening sequence is overall entertaining.
In our preliminary we didn’t use many transitions rather than ‘Cut’. This could also bore the viewer because one scene is constantly cutting to another throughout. In our main task we are going to try to use more transitions rather than doing that. We are going to use fade to black to edit in our titles and credits and we are going to use bright white cuts to imply certain ideas towards the viewer.
Overall our preliminary went well and our filming techniques worked. We had our camera based on a tripod at all times which made it easier to film straight.
